To film with a dashcam, in 99% of cases you need a Micro SD card. You insert the Micro SD card into the dashcam and it stores the videos you make with the dashcam. The length of the videos you can store in total depends on the capacity (the number of gigabytes) of the SD card. With a 32gb SD card, this averages about 4 hours of FullHD recordings.
The Micro SD card is put to quite a test when used in a dashcam. The files are large and because of Loop recording, a lot of processing takes place simultaneously. It is therefore important that the SD card is fast enough. Preferably choose a new SD card from an A-brand such as Samsung, Sandisk, Lexar or Transcend and format the SD card before the first use and regularly thereafter in the menu of the dashcam.
