The Mio MiVue 798 Dual Pro is Mio's flagship model. The MiVue 798 Dual Pro comes with the MiVue A50 rear camera and is equipped with the high quality Sony Starvis Night vision sensor which makes the images very good even in the dark. In addition to this Night vision, the MiVue 798 Dual Pro also has useful features such as speed camera alerts and GPS to track speed and coordinates.
The MiVue 798 Dual Pro stands out primarily for its fantastic 1600p image quality in 25fps. The dashcam is equipped with the high-quality Sony Starvis CMOS image sensor. The widescreen QuadHD images are of very good quality especially in the dark so that many details are clearly visible even at night. The resolution can also be set lower to 1440p or 1080p 30fps to free up more space on the SD card.
This 798 Dual Pro version comes with the FullHD MiVue A50 rear camera so it can also record behind the car. So together the cameras record in 1600p + 1080p.
The large 2.7-inch display on the MiVue 798 Dual Pro allows for easy viewing of images and easy menu control
The Mio MiVue 798 Dual Pro is equipped with Wi-Fi making it possible to share images wirelessly with your smartphone or tablet. Via the free MiVue App for iOS or Android, you can easily connect to the camera and view and share images wirelessly. This way, you do not have to remove the SD card from the camera every time you want to view images.
The Mio MiVue 798 Dual Pro is equipped with a built-in GPS module that records coordinates and speed. As a result, the current speed is displayed on screen and it is possible to use the MiVue Manager to view the route traveled along with the images.
The Mio MiVue 798 Dual Pro is equipped with a convenient Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS). This system consists of three separate options;
- FCWS: Forward Collision Warning System that warns when approaching a vehicle in front at high speed.
- LDWS: Lane Departure Warning System that warns when a lane change occurs unnoticed.
- FA: Fatigue Alert that notices when it is better for the driver to take a break (due to driving for a long time at one stretch).
The alerts are done in the form of an audible signal. Both systems can be turned on and off separately. Note that the use of ADAS on European roads does not always show accurate and reliable results due to the large differences in infrastructure.
The Mio MiVue 798 Dual Pro features a convenient automatic parking mode to secure the car. If enabled, parking mode is automatically activated when the power is cut (and continues on the internal battery for a short duration) or when the car is stationary for 5 minutes. It can also be manually enabled by pressing the P once when a regular recording is still in progress.
The MiVue 798 Dual Pro has a built-in 240mAh battery on which it can still operate for some time if the car ignition is turned off. Please note that longer use of the parking mode requires a MiVue Smartbox to power the camera when the ignition is turned off as well as to protect the car battery from draining (see bundle discounts below or list of optional accessories).
The Mio MiVue 798 Dual Pro has a built-in G-sensor. This is a sensor that detects vibrations and therefore notices when a collision occurs. in that case, the current recording is stored securely on the SD card so it cannot be erased.
The Mio MiVue 798 Dual Pro supports MicroSD cards up to 128gb. This is good for a total of about 20 hours of 1600p recording. With loop recording, you don't have to worry the dashcam stops recording when the SD card is full. The oldest footage is automatically deleted and overwritten with new files so the camera always keeps filming.
The Mio MiVue 798 Dual Pro has a viewing angle of 150˚ at the front and 140˚ on the MiVue A50 at the rear. This allows a large area around the camera to be seen without distorting the image too much at the sides.
The MiVue 798 Dual Pro is equipped with the Mio system that warns of speed cameras. The camera has a database containing the latest known speed cameras, the GPS alerts the driver if a speed camera is approached.
The database is updated monthly by Mio and can be used free of charge for the lifetime of the device.
The MiVue 798 Dual Pro automatically starts filming when the car is started and turns off automatically when the ignition is turned off. This requires the cigarette power supply to be connected.
