The Mio MiVue 866 4K is Mio's new top-of-the-line dashcam model. With its 8.0MP image sensor, this 886 records in razor-sharp quality. It is equipped with Wifi and GPS and on the 3.0-inch LCD screen, the menu is easy to operate.
The best thing about this Mio MiVue 886 is the stunning images it captures. Because of the Sony 8.0MP sensor, it shoots videos in 4K (2160p) resolution. There is also the ability to record in FullHD 60fps, 90fps or even 120fps slow motion.
The bright and large 3.0-inch screen on the MiVue 886 4K makes it easy to view images and operate the menu. A screensaver causes the screen to turn off after some driving time so the camera does not stand out too much.
Due to the large viewing angle of 160 degrees, a very large area around the car is recorded. So you don't have to worry about missing anything.
The Mio MiVue 886 is equipped with super fast 5.0ghz Wifi making it possible to share images wirelessly with your smartphone or tablet. Through the free MiVue App for iOS or Android, you can easily connect to the camera and view and share images wirelessly. This way, you do not have to remove the SD card from the camera every time you want to view images. Connecting is very easy because the dashboard camera is also equipped with Bluetooth.
The Mio MiVue 886 4K is equipped with a built-in GPS module that records coordinates and speed. As a result, the current speed is displayed on screen and it is possible to use the MiVue Manager to view the route taken along with the images.
The Mio MiVue 886 4K is equipped with a convenient Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS). This system consists of three separate options;
- FCWS: Forward Collision Warning System that warns when approaching a vehicle in front at high speed.
- LDWS: Lane Departure Warning System that warns when a lane change occurs unnoticed.
- FA: Fatigue Alert that notices when it is better for the driver to take a break (due to driving for a long time at one stretch).
The alerts are done in the form of an audible signal. Both systems can be turned on and off separately. Note that the use of ADAS on European roads does not always show accurate and reliable results due to the large differences in infrastructure.
The Mio MiVue 886 4K is equipped with a convenient automatic parking mode to secure the car. If enabled, the parking mode is automatically activated when the power is interrupted (and continues on the internal battery for a short duration) or when the car is stationary for 5 minutes. It can also be manually enabled by pressing the P once when a regular recording is still in progress.
The MiVue 886 4K has a built-in 240mAh battery on which it can still operate for some time if the car ignition is turned off. Please note that longer use of parking mode requires a MiVue Smartbox to power the camera when the ignition is turned off as well as to protect the car battery from draining (see bundle discounts below or list of optional accessories).
The Mio MiVue 886 4K has a built-in G-sensor. This is a sensor that detects vibrations and therefore notices when a collision occurs. in that case, the current recording is securely stored on the SD card so it cannot be deleted again.
Unlike many other MiVue's, this 886 comes with a sturdy self-adhesive holder. A good advance if you ask us, as such a holder is a lot more durable and ensures less vibration in the image.
The Mio MiVue 886 4K supports MicroSD cards up to 256gb. This is good for a total of about 20 hours of 4K recording. With loop recording, you don't have to worry about the dashcam stopping recording when the SD card is full. The oldest images are automatically deleted and overwritten with new files so the camera will always keep filming.
The MiVue 886 4K is equipped with the Mio system that warns of speed cameras. The camera has a database containing the last known speed cameras, the GPS alerts the driver if a speed camera is approached.
The database is updated monthly by Mio and can be used free of charge for the lifetime of the device.
The MiVue 886 4K automatically starts filming when the car is started and turns off automatically when the ignition is turned off. This requires the cigarette power supply to be connected.
